NEWS Update

"Chartham Farmers Market celebrated British Food Fortnight with flag-bedecked fun last Thursday (2 October). Fifteen decorated stalls in the Village Hall enticed eager crowds of local shoppers to stock up with the very best of Kent produce.

Celebrity for the day was Tracey Smith, of Iffin Lane, Thanington who won the Free Hamper Draw. Her prize was provided by the Kent Farmers Market Association as part of their celebration of the 40th anniversary of the designation of the Downs, in which Chartham sits, as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Tracey chose Sweet Tooth, selling confectionery made in Stowting by Kay Hull, as the best dressed stall.

Tracey, a regular customer at the weekly Thursday market in Chartham Village Hall, was delighted with her win. She says Farmers Markets provides good quality, fresh, local produce at reasonable prizes. The many satisfied customers there clearly agreed with her."
